One of the sports legend badminton Indonesia, namely Verawaty Fajrin, was recently found to be limp in the hospital, Mother. This is because the woman who was born in Jakarta on October 1, 1957, had lung cancer.
Currently, Verawaty Fajrin is receiving treatment at the Jakarta Dharmais Hospital through government assistance. The former women’s singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles era of the 1980s was sentenced to cancer in March 2020.
Since being sentenced, Verawaty has undergone chemotherapy five times. But unfortunately, these efforts have not yielded results so that the condition does not improve.
Actually, Verawaty Fajrin’s condition had improved and the hospital allowed her to go home. However, recently his condition has worsened and the government has helped to refer him to Dharmais Hospital since 19 September.
“Currently, Mrs. Vera is being treated at the Tulip Building 602. This is a treatment room, it will be moved to the rose room because it is just empty,” said dr. Raden Soeko Werdi Nindito Danoekoesoemo, which was distributed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Sesmenpora), Gatot S. Dewa Broto, quoted from the journalists’ forum via detik.com on Monday (21/9/2021).
“It looks like it’s in pain even though it’s been therapy. It’s not as strong as usual and jokes a lot in the previous treatment. It seems that the family hopes that Mrs. Vera will continue to be treated at the hospital because she is on bed rest, unable to actively get up or sit down,” the statement continued.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) of the Republic of Indonesia is currently seeking the best treatment for Verawaty, Mother. One of them is by changing the status of BPJS Verawati members from class 2 to class 1.
“Mbak Vera is still monitoring her condition. I am currently coordinating with BPJS,” explained Gatot.
Previously, news of Verawaty’s illness was spread by Rosiana Tendean. The friend and former badminton partner said Verawaty was in a worrying condition.
“The queen of Indonesian badminton in the 1980s, Verawati Fajrin, is now lying helpless. Cancer is eating away at her body. She was undergoing chemotherapy at the Friendship Hospital. ,” wrote Rosiana.
“Because her condition was getting better, Vera returned home. But a few days ago her condition worsened again. Vera was rushed back to the Dharmais hospital. The former 1980 women’s singles badminton world champion is only a class 2 BPJS card holder.”
“In a worrying condition, the winner of the 2021 Haornas award has to wait in the transit room because the ICU is full. We ask the government to help with treatment so that Verawati’s condition can improve,” continued Rosiana’s writing addressed to Indonesian President Joko Widodo, the Ministry of Health, to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
During her active period, Verawaty Fajrin represented Indonesia in many international championships, Mother. Some of his achievements include being a world champion in 1980, the 1978 Asian Games, the 1987 SEA Games, and becoming a finalist at the 1990 Asian Games.
