The resident of the Conquérant Badminton Club of Caen (Calvados), Céline Heude, did not do things halfway during the last French Veterans Championships which were held in Annemasse (Haute-Savoie) just before the end of the year holidays. She brought home three medals from the competition. Including two gold: in singles (category V2) and in double ladies (category V1) alongside Elodie Eymard-Brabant (BC Meylan). A first for the tireless player of the National 2 of the Caen club. “As we were defending champions, we decided to register in another category to challenge ourselves and face greater adversity,” she explains. “We beat the same pair as two years ago [Hélène Dijoux – Audrey Petit, ndlr]. Facing it is always interesting. A big game every time! “.
“The health crisis deprived me of my outlet”
The anecdote will remember that Elodie Eymard-Brabant and Céline Heude also met in the singles final. “I absolutely wanted this title. I had specifically prepared myself”. Associated with Romain Flepp (BC Saint-Barthélémy d’Anjou), she also took third place in the mixed doubles:
I experienced serious personal problems and the health crisis deprived me of my outlet. Finding the competition, the atmosphere and the players I’ve known for years did me a world of good. Pleasure has been potentiated.
