Homberg (pm). Recently, the badminton department of TV 1862 Homberg once again organized its traditional “loop tournament” in the large sports hall, the club informs in a press release.
“This is not just sport, but also living social interaction between all generations,” said competition director Patrick Köhler in his welcome. 22 participants competed in this tournament for the coveted ribbons, which are tied to the racket after a game is won. In the end, the oldest participant had won six ribbons after eight rounds: “At 77 years old, I still feel like I’m in good hands here and not left behind as a senior. I think it’s great to win a game together with a ten-year-old girl.” The game was played according to the Swiss system, which means that the pairs are always drawn again. After the sporting badminton tournament there was of course the award ceremony. Among the young people, Mika Metz and Joel Albrecht took first place with equal points. Oliver Christ came in first place among adults.
