Ulm (dpa / lsw) – Numerous people have gathered in Ulm to set an example for respectful coexistence in Corona times. On request, the police did not provide any further information on the number of participants on Saturday, an eyewitness reported several thousand people. After a rally on Münsterplatz, participants formed a human chain to the town hall in neighboring Neu-Ulm.

The organizers expressed concern about attempts to sow discord and distrust in the city in the wake of the pandemic, according to a call to the meeting. Say no to attempts by a minority to discredit the dissenting majority.

A broad alliance from politics and society had called for the demonstration. In addition to the Protestant and Catholic parishes in Ulm, the call was also supported by the former mayor of Ulm, Ivo Gönner (SPD), and numerous members of parliament from several parties.
