As of March, Patricia Alberth is the new Managing Director of the State Palaces and Gardens of Baden-Württemberg. In the future, she will also be responsible for Ludwigsburg Palace, for example.

The State Palaces and Gardens (SSG) get a new boss. From March, Patricia Alberth will take over the management, as the Ministry of Finance announced on Thursday. The previous managing director Michael Hörrmann retired at the end of last year.

Alberth was born in Baden-Württemberg and worked for the UN cultural organization Unesco for around ten years – in the Asia-Pacific office in Bangkok and at the World Heritage Center in Paris. Since 2013 she has been the director of the World Heritage Center in Bamberg. There she worked for the protection, mediation and strategic development of the UNESCO World Heritage “Old Town of Bamberg”.

62 monuments in the country are looked after by the SSG, including Ludwigsburg Castle, Heidelberg Castle, Bebenhausen Monastery and Maulbronn Monastery. The SSG has 221 employees. The head office is in Bruchsal.
