Cars with conventional combustion engines, such as diesel and gasoline, continue to be the most common vehicles on the roads of the state of Baden-Württemberg.
As the State Statistical Office in Fellbach (Rems-Murr district) announced, their share of the total number of passenger cars (cars) fell slightly to 89.7 percent as of January 1, 2024, with 6.2 million vehicles, compared to 91.8 percent at the beginning of the previous year. The office cites the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) and its own calculations as sources, according to the statement. A total of 6,924,840 cars were registered at the beginning of the year.
More hybrid cars than pure electric vehicles
Cars with purely electric drive increased from 165,383 vehicles to 229,556 cars. According to the information, fully electric cars accounted for 3.3 percent of the car fleet in the southwest.
Hybrid cars accounted for 6.4 percent of the total, with 442,088 vehicles. Overall, according to the State Statistical Office, around one in ten cars was equipped with an alternative drive system.
