Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – The Baden-Württemberg Minister of Social Affairs, Manne Lucha, has called for the go-ahead for the basic child security plan planned by the federal government. “It will simplify the application process for many family-related benefits and thus relieve families,” said the Green politician on Sunday in Stuttgart on the occasion of Family Day. In the country, he relies in particular on a network to prevent child poverty.
From 2025 onwards, according to the plan of the Berlin traffic light coalition, various state benefits from child benefit to child allowance and financial support for school trips are to be bundled. According to earlier information, around every fifth child in Germany is at risk of poverty. That should change with the reform, as stated in the coalition agreement.
Lucha recently announced that the network to prevent child poverty would be expanded. “We want to establish a nationwide network in all urban and rural districts by 2030.” So far, there are locations in half of the 44 urban and rural districts.
