It’s best to pack your umbrella – according to the German Weather Service, it will remain rainy in BW until the weekend. There could be flooding in some areas.
Anyone going outside in Baden-Württemberg in the coming days should take an umbrella with them. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), there will be repeated rain in the state until the weekend. There will initially be isolated showers on Wednesday until the evening, before continuous rain is expected overnight into Thursday.

Which areas are affected by heavy rain?
The German Weather Service has therefore issued an official severe weather warning for the administrative districts of Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Freiburg and Tübingen, warning of heavy, persistent rain. In the southern mountains and in Upper Swabia, the DWD is expecting rainfall of up to 45 litres per square metre in some areas, and even up to 60 litres per square metre in the south-west of the country.
Rainfall of up to 100 litres per square metre possible
In areas with high water levels in the southern Black Forest and the Upper Rhine Valley, it could rain up to 100 litres per square metre within 24 hours. Due to rising river levels, flooding is to be expected in the affected areas, warns the DWD. It is also expected to remain rainy during the day on Thursday.
A mixture of sun and clouds is expected on Friday, with isolated showers and short thunderstorms in some places. Saturday is expected to be unsettled with rain and showers, although the weather is expected to clear up from the northwest during the day. At least it won’t be too cold, with highs of over 20 degrees forecast in some places.
