Many people from Baden who emigrated to America after the 1848 revolution were hoping for happiness, wealth and, above all, freedom. This only became reality for very few – one of them was a member of the Buck family from Bad Dürrheim.
After the Baden Revolution, many a grand ducal subject fled the country, and the cabinet also wanted the revolutionaries out of the country. There were effects on some Bad Dürrheim families.
