Baden Commune Agents on Strike over Unresolved Benefit Tool Dispute and Management Issues

No canteen, no nursery, closed services: in Baden on Friday the agents of the commune went on strike. In question the Rifseep (benefit tool), and its amounts. In June 2022, the agents had already mobilized, the mayor had then decided to review his copy. For several months, staff representatives have worked with elected officials to establish a new, more equitable system.

Ill-being at work, contested management…

In April, the elected officials expressed their proposal, but the social dialogue seems to have stopped there, according to the strikers. The agents deplored “the casualness with which they were received but also the contempt since the files in the territorial social committee are quickly dispatched”. They also wish to alert to “the deterioration of working conditions within the community: precarious contracts, malaise at work, faulty management and communication methods”.

The agents want “a real start in terms of dialogue”.
