Evgeny Bazhenov, better known as the popular blogger BadComedian, spoke about the fate of cinemas in the Russian capital.
According to the film reviewer, after the departure of Western films, the film distributor market was in a difficult position.
BadComedian believes that the release of Russian “event films” such as “Viking” and “Moving Up” will not save the situation. The blogger predicted a rollback for the film market 30 years ago.
“Exactly fly in [никуда] many cinemas that were somehow imprisoned for arthouse. We must remember the 90s – everything was closed there. Pushkinsky [работал] cinema, on Paveletskaya and all. Here, the 90s, yes. Welcome to the 90s. Well, for a while,” he says.
In an interview on the YouTube channel ANOIR Bazhenov stressed that only state support saves distributors. But if cinemas lose it, apparently, there may not be any cinema halls left in the country at all.
Formerly BadComedian raznes to smithereens the new “Russian Musical Association”, the creation of which was announced by Nikolai Baskov.
