ROMA – “An alarming inability to use the many resources for the management of river basins allocated by the government to the regions in a rapid, efficient and transparent way has emerged: from what the Court of Auditors has found, just 10% of these huge resources in Emilia -Romagna was actually spent to protect citizens and businesses.
Enrica Mazzetti
If this is the case in a region that left-wing propaganda has sold as virtuous, I dare not imagine what miserable percentages Tuscany reaches, where entire territories are – unfortunately regularly – underwater. For this reason, I hope that the Court of Auditors will also make similar findings in Tuscany and provide data on actual spending.
This time, after so much damage caused in Prato and Pistoia, in the Mugello and in the Florentine plain, the Sienese territory and that of the Val d’Elsa ended up under water, especially in Castelfiorentino and Certaldo, where the flooding interrupted the vital connection of the Sr429. This requires a change in the management system which, given the obvious inability of the most affected regions such as Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna, must be more centralized, more serious, more efficient, even if the government of the territory.
On this issue, now that we are applying the law on autonomy, it is essential that the LEPs are those that art. 117 of the Constitution prescribes are guaranteed throughout the national territory as applications of the matter of governing the territory, a concurrent matter; the absence of them has caused uncertainty in operators, fear of signing in public officials, due to criminal and accounting responsibilities, and above all has aggravated the administrative authorization procedures.
It is necessary that as soon as possible we arrive at a text of general principles approved by the state throughout the national territory. Months of controversy by the PD against the government have only produced new damage to people and businesses, with worrying consequences on the economic and employment level. It is clear that we need to change strategy. This very week, in fact, in the Chamber of Deputies we will vote for the establishment of the commission of inquiry into hydrogeological risk, hindered by the minority, when it is extremely necessary to have knowledge of the situation and act with concrete solutions.”
