Because the game between Jannik Sinner and Karen Khachanov was scheduled on an outside court and it is raining in New York, the South Tyrolean has to wait for his first round game.

Last year, Jannik Sinner dueled on the covered Louis Armstrong Stadium in the first round of the US Open Stan Wawrinka. With Karen Khachanov (a detailed preview of the game can be found here), his first-round opponent is similarly prominent this year. Only the setting on Court 8 is much smaller.
When the match, scheduled for 5 p.m. CET, can begin is unclear, as it is trickling in New York. However, the sky over the US metropolis should clear up in the next few hours. Not only Sinner and Khachanov hope so, but also all tennis fans.
Meanwhile the weather has improved and the match has started.
