Bad weather is expected in a large part of the territory this Monday, forecasts Météo France, which places nine departments on alert.
Eight departments are on orange alert for floods, three for rain-flooding.

Heavy rain is expected in France this Monday, December 11, according to Météo-France forecasts. Accumulated precipitation could be very heavy locally, particularly in the Alps. An episode that occurs when the soil is already saturated with water, which could cause flooding or even landslides, warns the meteorological organization.
Nine departments are placed on orange alert this Monday morning:
– Rain-flood: Haute-Savoie, Isère, Savoy.
– Floods: Charente, Charente-Maritime, Corrèze, Deux-Sèvres, Dordogne, Gironde, Haute-Savoie and Savoie.

In the Alps, rainy spells are sustained and rainfall could reach a level close to that usually observed in a month. Above 2300 m precipitation will generally occur as snow. An associated snowmelt phenomenon could increase the risk of flooding and flooding.

Bad weather is expected to continue up to high altitudes on Tuesday in the Alps, Météo-France predicts. Precipitation will be less abundant than Monday but will remain significant, particularly in Haute-Savoie and towards Tarentaise.
