In order to be able to give as many seniors as possible the pleasure of a Christmas concert, the Bad Säckingen music school will once again give a concert this year, which will be broadcast live on the Internet and can therefore not only be followed in the old people’s homes in the region but also by everyone at home.
Concert on December 15th at 5pm
The concert will be streamed on YouTube on Thursday 15 December at 5pm. “This Christmas concert will be specially designed for the older generation and we hope that we can make many elderly people happy in our special association’s retirement homes. We normally had several concerts a year in institutions for the elderly. In this way, people can listen to live music and have fun with the children making music,” explains the director of the music school, Manuel Wagner.
During these performances, students gain valuable experience in front of a benevolent audience. “Unfortunately, due to ongoing stringent testing and masking requirements, we have not yet been able to continue this tradition. As we have been heavily involved in online teaching and streaming during the pandemic, we have decided to use our experience especially at Christmas,” says Wagner.
What will you see?
Thus was born a sort of television program with live music, scenes recorded from the castle and the Christmas market, texts and stories, broadcast from the music school studio directly into the common rooms of rest homes and many other living rooms. They play soloists, ensembles and small orchestras.
Seven houses have already confirmed and are looking forward to this welcome change in Advent. The Lions Club Bad Säckingen also supports the music school so that the program reaches people with good picture and sound. Not only financially, but also in the form of on-site help, in setting up the technology and support in case of problems. “We are really looking forward to this innovative project and hope that many people will tune in and we can celebrate a Christmas event together.”
