Coach Craig Ramsay’s team can count on three players from overseas at the championship. In addition to Studenič, also with goalkeeper Adam Húsk (Hartford Wolf Pack / AHL) and forward Róbert Lantoš (Providence Bruins / AHL), who should arrive at the preparatory camp within a week.
Twenty-two-year-old Marián Studenič started the season in Slovan Bratislava, headed overseas in January, where he first played 22 AHL farm games for the Binghamton Devils and then premiered in the NHL in New Jersey Devils. In eight profilig starts, he scored two points for goal and assistance.
On Tuesday, the attackers Pavol Skalický and Kristián Pospíšil, who could also strengthen the national team at the World Championships, ended the season with a title in the Finnish league. Slovaks will fly to Riga on Sunday, May 16.
