Bad news for pork in the shops

Pig farmers, who have been suffering from the low purchase price of pork for months, warn of mass bankruptcies. A kilo of meat is bought for less than a kilo of cucumbers, producers in the industry warn, BGNES reports.

This is the reason why 30% of the meat in the shops in our country is Bulgarian, and the rest is imported from different countries.

In order not to further undercut the price of meat in stores, more and more Bulgarian producers are opening their butchers.

The African plague, which was the cause of the destruction of animals in many Bulgarian pig farms, also dealt a severe blow to the industry.

At the moment, the production costs are many times higher than the selling price of pork, as the loss is about BGN per kilogram, or at least about BGN 100 per pig.
