The champion Ludogorets started its participation in the new format of the Europa League tournament with a loss. Razgrad fell 0:2 to Slavia Prague
The unpleasant thing for Ludogorets happened shortly before the break, when Slavia (Prague) cleverly managed to take the lead in the 37th minute.
The Eagles’ defense committed a collective error after Almeida, Naresi and Verdon didn’t agree on who would play a pass to Horry. The ram did not wait for a second invitation and with his long legs knocked for the uncovered Jurashek. The youngster entered the penalty area and aimed as well as possible to leave Sergio Padt without a chance.
The visitors could have doubled their lead before the break. Ludogorets footballers moved more massively forward to look for the equalizer. The second half started in frightening fashion for the Eagles, who conceded a second goal. In the 47th minute, however, the guests’ captain, Jan Borjil, was fortunately far behind the last in the defense of Ludogorets and his goal was disallowed due to an ambush.
Olivier Verdon acted decisively in the 57th minute. Then the Benin international was last in defense and managed to clear a sharp pass from El Hadji Diouf, aiming to find the advancing Provod in the “eagles” penalty area.
Ludogorets was not doing anything to change its fate against the most popular Czech team.
In the 65th minute, Dinis Almeida dropped the substitute Moimir Hitil. The young shooter did not wait for a second invitation and went up to 0:2 from close range.
Shortly after, the Czechs missed a third goal.
