Bad Krozingen is looking for helpers for the test center – Bad Krozingen

Support of seniors in finding appointments and driving to the vaccination.

(BZ). The city of Bad Krozingen is currently planning to support senior citizens from Bad Krozingen who are eligible to be vaccinated in booking appointments and traveling to the two Corona vaccination centers in Freiburg and Müllheim. As a press release from the city also shows, preparations are underway for the establishment of a municipal rapid test center at Josefshaus.

In the latter case, tests are initially to be offered to visitors to Bad Krozinger senior and care facilities and to visitors to people living in the spa town who are cared for at home. This is intended to relieve in particular the forces in inpatient and outpatient care, but also relatives of those in need of care and people who are no longer mobile and who are cared for at home. The people in need of care should be able to have more social contacts again.

The city administration wants to organize the Corona rapid test center together with the Bad Krozingen fire brigade, the DRK local association as well as the Südlicher Breisgau social station and the KWA Parkstift. According to the announcement, tests are planned from Monday to Saturday, in each case from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in specially designed containers in the parking lot of the Josefshaus in Basler Straße 1. Authorization for a quick test is given via participation vouchers, which are issued by the care facilities and outpatients Nursing services are issued in Bad Krozingen.

In order to enable the expected 1000 tests per week, volunteers are urgently needed for the test center, who are responsible for supervision and receipt of the fees. Furthermore, the city administration is looking for people who can take the smears on the basis of a medical education. These would of course be trained, tested and provided with protective equipment. Contact is made via the care support point of the city of Bad Krozingen, Tel. 07633/8090856 or by e-mail to: [email protected].

Many of the 1,800 senior citizens in the city who are eligible for vaccination still live independently in their apartments, with their relatives or in assisted living facilities, the press release continues. In contrast to the residents of senior citizens’ or care facilities, they have to arrange a vaccination appointment in Freiburg or Müllheim themselves, as well as organize the trip there. For many, however, both the registration and the journey are difficult. Not every elderly person has the support of relatives. In addition, journeys with public transport pose a risk under the current conditions.

Vaccination appointments in the next six weeks have been taken

The city of Bad Krozingen is therefore planning support for its citizens who are entitled to vaccination, both in making appointments and in organizing a transport service, which is to take place in cooperation with the Citizens Bus Association. Further options are still being examined. Currently, both vaccination centers cannot allocate as many appointments as would be demanded. As a result, the appointments for the next six weeks have already been taken.

The city of Bad Krozingen will therefore offer its support service as soon as new vaccination appointments can be made again.
