Urination is one of the vital processes that a person carries out daily, to get rid of liquids, salts and harmful substances, because their permanence in the body can negatively affect public health.

Some people make bad habits while urinating without paying attention, which “Consult” examines in the following report, according to the “Livestrong” website.

Bad habits when urinating

1- Push while urinating

Pressure on the abdominal muscles, to speed up the urination process, can cause the bladder to weaken, especially when this causes certain long-term problems, most notably:

Prolapse of the pelvic organs.

Difficulty expelling the bladder.

– Hemorrhoids.

2- Scan from back to front

There is no doubt that cleaning the genitals after urination is very important, but it should be borne in mind that cleaning from front to back, because if this is reversed, the risk of urinary tract infection increases, due to the entry of stool in the urethra.

3- Urinary retention

You should go to the bathroom when you feel the need to urinate, as deliberately holding urine for more than 5 hours or more can lead to bladder wall expansion and infection.

Therefore, it is necessary to urinate every 2 to 4 hours, to maintain a healthy bladder.

4- Urinate standing up

Some people get used to urinating standing up, knowing that the correct position for this vital process is to sit straight or lean forward slightly with the arms on the leg, to relieve pressure on the bladder and allow urine to flow easily.

5- Urinating without need

Trying to empty your bladder frequently may seem healthy, but it’s not, as urinating without feeling has been shown to negatively affect your health, making your bladder more sensitive once filled with a little water.

6- Do Kegel exercises while urinating

Kegel exercises play an important role in strengthening the pelvic floor muscles, but doing them while urinating prevents the bladder from contracting and makes it more difficult for urine to flow.
