Bad Bunny Breaks Guinness World Record with Most Streamed Album on Spotify in 2023

Bad Bunny just keeps on winning in 2023. The Guinness World Records have recorded yet another title for the Puerto Rican star — Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio. A Summer Without You is Spotify‘s most streamed album of 2023, racking up an impressive 4.5 billion streams.

The 23-track album also won a Grammy this year and was also the most-played album in 2022. This is not the firs time Bad Bunny has broken this annual record. His album YHLQMDLG was also the most streamed album in 2020 with 3.3 billion streams on Spotify. Earlier this year, his newest album no one knows what will happen tomorrow became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day in 2023. A Summer Without You is also Spotify’s most streamed album of all time with 15.177 billion streams as of December 19, 2023.

Bad Bunny has accomplished so much, garnering major titles of recognition around the world. The 29-year-old singer was the first non-English language act to become the most streamed act on Spotify. Under the A Summer Without You album, five of the tracks as of December 8, 2024 — “Me Porto Benito” (feat. Chencho Corleone), “Tití Me Preguntó”, “Callaita” (feat. Tainy), “Ojitos Lindos” (feat. Bomba Estéreo) and “Efecto” — all surpassed one billion streams. In other awards, Bad Bunny has been recognized for becoming the first male Latin artist to win Artist of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards, first winner of the Best Música Urbana Album Grammy, first all Spanish-language album to top the Billboard 200 for The Last Tour Of The World and the first Album of the Year Grammy nomination for a Spanish-language album for A Summer Without You.
