MIAMI, Florida – This Monday, several streets in Fort Lauderdale will be closed from 6 am to 12 pm due to the filming of the movie ‘Bad Boys 4’, the city reported. Heavy traffic and delays are expected in the area. These include:
Northbound A1A between Las Olas Boulevard and Bayshore Drive
Poinsettia Street entre A1A y Seabreeze Boulevard
Cortez Street between A1A and Seabreeze Boulevard
Castle Street between A1A and Seabreeze Boulevard
Sebastian Street between A1A and Seabreeze Boulevard
Filming will also affect roads in Miami for several days, specifically:
The easternmost lane of Brickell Avenue between 13th and 14th streets on February 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Southwest 2nd Avenue and 2nd Street el 1 de marzo from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Southwest 2nd Avenue Bridge between 3rd and 8th Streets on March 2 and 3 from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The city has issued an alert warning motorists that filming of the “Bad Boys 4” sequel starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will close northbound State Highway A1A and other roads near the beach all day. Drivers are urged to detour onto Seabreeze Boulevard, which “will be converted to one lane in each direction to facilitate traffic flow,” according to the city.
“Bad Boys. Miami. Last eight days!” actor Will Smith announced on his Instagram account Wednesday, posting a video showing him performing a stunt on a pier overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. “That hurt my back!” he said jokingly, as a remix version of his hit song “Miami” played in the background. “Damn, I LOVE this city! ‘Bad Boys 4’ is coming up fast, folks,” he added in the Instagram caption.
On Wednesday, the Oscar winner was seen at Inter Miami’s season opener at the newly named Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, even greeting superstar Lionel Messi from the stands.
The “Bad Boys” franchise has filmed scenes in South Florida since it began with the box office hit in 1995. This long-awaited fourth sequel to the action-cop comedy, which does not yet have an official title, reunites Smith and Lawrence as Miami narcotics detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, respectively. Production was halted in July 2023 due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, but is scheduled for release on June 14.
“Bad Boys 4” is directed by Belgian-Moroccan filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who directed the third installment of the series, “Bad Boys For Life,” in 2020.
