Bacteria in hospitals are fighting doctors in the Collective case

At admission, the wounded appeared to be colonized with a certain amount of bacteria. Their medical condition is now stable, and we offer them care at high standards, as required by their current condition “, this is what the Belgian doctors from Military Hospital Queen Astrid Brussels for Free Romania said. In reply, Romanian specialists explained yesterday, in a press conference, that this does not mean that the wounded were infected with bacteria in Bucharest hospitals. “Those people are not infected, but colonized with certain germs,” said the manager of the “Matei Balş” Institute, Prof. Streinu Cercel.

According to him, there is no hospital, in the country or abroad, where there is no risk of nosocomial infections. “For every day you stay in a hospital, there is a risk of developing a nosocomial infection,” Streinu added. The Belgians also recognize it, but say that the chances are very low that a patient will become infected in their hospital. “During any hospitalization, there are small and limited chances of getting a nosocomial infection, a possibility against which we take all preventive measures,” said representatives of the Belgian hospital, a unit where eight wounded arrived from Bucharest.

A huge scandal related to infections in “killer hospitals” broke out last week, after a doctor from the Burns Hospital in Bucharest told tolo.ro that some people injured in the fire at “Colectiv” died due to bacterial infections taken from hospitals. Hospital officials have confirmed that three injured have indeed lost their lives in the fight. In the fire at “Colectiv”, on October 30, 60 people lost their lives and several dozen others were injured. 29 patients are currently being treated in hospitals abroad, and 24 in Bucharest.

The eight injured who arrived at the Belgian hospital were transferred on November 7, with a military aircraft. They had been hospitalized at several hospital units in Bucharest, namely: the Central Military Hospital „Dr. Carol Davila ”,“ Bagdasar-Arseni ”Hospital, Arşi Hospital,“ St. Ioan ”, Elias Hospital and“ Grigore Alexandrescu ”Hospital.
