Backstage notes from the AEW shows in the UK: Updates on the status of Daniel Garcia, Michael Oku and the Grizzled Young Veterans, fan reactions to Big Bill surprise, planned and unplanned blood, numerous UK talents in attendance – preview of tonight’s edition of “AEW Rampage”

Fightful Select published a series of interesting backstage notes from the “AEW All In” weekend in London during the week.

AEW is very pleased with Daniel Garcia’s performance at the “AEW All In” PPV and this week’s “AEW Dynamite.” Before his surprise comeback, Garcia spent the entire day backstage at Wembley Stadium, but he always wore a mask to conceal his identity.

* It is currently still unclear whether the Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) will commit to AEW in the long term. The two Brits now live in the USA and the fact that they are now appearing in AEW does not give any clear indication as to whether they have signed contracts. However, negotiations between the Grizzled Young Veterans and AEW have been going on for months and after a long period of disagreement over the terms, they were finally able to reach an agreement.

* AEW was very pleasantly surprised by the positive fan reaction Big Bill received in the UK.

* Even though the 10 Man Tag Team Match was only announced at short notice for the pre-show of the “AEW All In” PPV, the pairing had probably been in the planning for some time.

* Claudio Castagnoli suffered a laceration in the PPV opener. The blood in the match between Toni Storm and Mariah May was planned and intentional.

* Fightful confirmed once again that the Death Triangle was originally supposed to win the AEW World Trios Championship at the PPV. However, since the Lucha Brothers are about to leave for WWE, PAC was paired with Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta as partners.

* A number of British talents were present backstage at the weekly tapings in Cardiff and at the “AEW All In” PPV. Among those present were Amira, Michael Oku, RevPro owner Andy Quildan, SUBCULTURE (Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster), Cameron Khai, TK Cooper, JJ Gale, Chuck Mambo, Ricky Knight Jr., Rhio, Lizzy Evo, Mercedes Blaze, Like DeReiss, Fabio, Martin Steers, Kuro, Adam Maxted, Jordan Saeed, The Brothers Awe, Damian Corvin and Zozaya. Many of the talents mentioned were used as extras at the shows.

* Fightful reports that Amira & Michael Oku were invited by AEW and also appeared in a dark match before the “AEW Collision” tapings in Cardiff, but neither of them has yet received an official offer from AEW. In recent weeks, it has been reported that the RevPro star and his companion are close to signing with AEW.

These include the matches Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) vs. The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd), Jay Lethal & Jeff Jarrett vs. The Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett) vs. Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) and Konosuke Takeshita vs. The Beast Mortos vs. Komander vs. Lio Rush.
