Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Doppelbauer held a leading position in the electrical engineering industry before he accepted the call to the Electrotechnical Institute at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in 2011. Since 2020 he has also been involved in the BEM advisory board and is available to us with his expertise. In the discussion about the suitable alternative for regenerative drives in private transport, there is concern in science. In the argument of the federal government and large industrial associations of technology openness for future mass mobility, the extent of the technical possibilities is overestimated and the real costs are ignored.
“Nobody really needs hydrogen cars. In the distant future, too, they will always be more expensive and environmentally harmful than battery-electric cars. At the moment, I really see a risk that politicians will again refrain from pouring pure wine, as the people know better. We need a clear and unambiguous commitment to battery-electric cars «, says BEM advisory board Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Doppelbauer from KIT in the current BEM background.
