Two years after its scrapping, the HomePod returns as if nothing had happened or almost with a version that has generally won us over. Apple masters its subject to perfection and the connected speaker knows how to deliver effective, punchy and attractive sound thanks to these proven signal processing technologies.
Spatial Audio is the workhorse of the American group, and the HomePod proves it once again with impressive management of compatible songs and a truly present immersion once the first notes are played.
The HomePod (second generation) nevertheless remains a HomePod, with all the limitations that we know of. Only Apple users are targeted by the brand, and even more so if you want to use your device(s) on your TV. Apple Music is almost mandatory to benefit from the greatest comfort of use.
The 349 euros therefore remain a bit expensive paid for a speaker almost exclusively dedicated to music, and aimed at the general public who do not benefit from the lossless pieces offered by music platforms. The HomePod therefore returns, but has obviously not changed an inch or so, and will be reserved above all for music fans who are even more fans of the brand.
