Back to Work in the Office Starting September, Apple Employees Protest

Suara.com – 2.800 Apple employees protesting a new policy requiring them to return to work three days a week.

This plan will take effect from early September.

In a letter sent to the company, employees Apple want a more flexible work pattern, whether it’s working from any office, still working remotely.

“We would like to have the opportunity to communicate any concerns that are developing among our colleagues,” the letter read The Verge, Sunday (6/6/2021).

It also explained that Apple’s policy of remote or flexible work and other communications, had forced their record to leave the company.

“Without inclusivity and flexibility, many of us feel we have to choose between family, well-being, and being empowered to do our best work, or staying a part of Apple,” the letter added.

The internal letter comes two days after Apple CEO Tim Cook sent a note to employees saying they had to return from work on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays starting in September.

Tim Cook says most permanent employees can work remotely two days a week.

Furthermore, they are also allocated remote work for up to two weeks a year, subject to manager approval.

This policy is a little looser than Apple’s work pattern so far.
