Warm air from the Sahara will make the Balkan peninsula the hottest place in Europe. This awaits us in the coming days, and the culmination will be on Sunday, when temperatures will reach almost 16 degrees and 10 degrees on average during the day, climatologist Prof. Georgi Rachev announced on BTV.
The climate will be particularly hot north of the mountains. Along the Black Sea average temperatures will be about a degree or two higher. There will still be fog in the morning, but it will dissipate quickly. Even high in the mountains it will be unusually warm for the season, albeit colder, Rachev said.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the high mountains it will snow a lot, but it will be difficult for a consistent snowpack to form. There will be high wind speed everywhere there.
However, the warm weather will last only until Sunday, after which it will cool down, but according to Prof. Rachev it will not be extreme, but on the contrary – with normal temperatures for the season.
