Some cars become icons, and not necessarily because they became popular and sold in buckets and buckets. Movie cars are among these, and now perhaps the most iconic of them all gets an electric sequel.

Time machine
It’s DeLorean Motor Company, which this week unveiled the sequel to DeLorean DMC 12, which was launched in 1981.
The car was equipped with a V6 engine from Renault, and despite its sporty appearance was not a speed machine when it came out. It also had some quality issues.

However, it became well known when it played the role of time machine in the “Back to the Future” films that ravaged cinemas in the 80’s.
DeLorean originally went bankrupt shortly after the car was launched, but resurfaced in 1995. Since then, they have been repairing and restoring the old cars from the 80s.

A taste of the new model was shown in February, but this week they unveiled the car which will be named DeLorean Alpha5.

This new car will have the same “gull wing” doors as its predecessor and will have room for four people, and according to Top Gear, is the one designed by Italdesign, which was started by Giorgetto Giugiaro. He also designed the original car.

The battery must have a capacity of 100 kilowatt hours, and the car must have a range of at least 482 kilometers.
The top speed should – according to the manufacturer – lie at around 250 kilometers per hour.
