Back to school in Avignon: union asks Dasen to protect the health of staff

The FSU-SNUipp union has just written to the academic director. He asked her to intervene with the Avignon City Council to protect the staff. “You have to take the time to be able to do things right. (…) There is no question of taking risks, “warns the union, which stresses that the return of students will not be everywhere on May 12.

In fact, the SNUipp believes that the teaching team can report to the directors situations that do not meet the conditions for safe reception of students. The inspector will then be responsible for studying the sticking points and contacting the mayor to correct and improve matters. “If the latter does not do so, the academic director will intervene and if that is not enough, a request for intervention from the prefect will be made to resolve the problem,” warns the union.

The right of withdrawal examined if the security conditions are not met

“If the correction was not made, the academic director announced that he would send all the teachers home,” conclude the representatives.

However, according to the FSU, the schools in Avignon are far from being ready and “if the sanitary conditions are not met on May 12 and the academic director forces the teachers to resume”, the union will examine under what conditions the teachers can exercise their right of withdrawal.
