. “Lifelong learning” is used a lot in common parlance. Meanwhile, learning does not necessarily have to be combined with career advancement or re-entry. Some people go back to school at an advanced age out of interest in a certain topic. Christine Keller as well as Ingeborg and Meinrad Götz faced such a challenge and completed a theological course. When asked by the Badische Zeitung, they describe their motives and experiences.
Ingeborg Götz had wanted to attend a theological course for many years, but as a mother of five children never found the time for it. Her husband Meinrad, on the other hand, was more curious about new learning content. Christine Keller, on the other hand, wanted to study theology after graduating from high school, but she was unable to do so. She was now fulfilling an old heart’s desire. The course started two and a half years ago. It was completed at the beginning of July. From a total of 50 course participants at the beginning, ten took the exam at the end. The three Bonndorfer, all of whom have been volunteer supporters of the Catholic parish for many years, successfully completed this.
