The 2023/2024 school year was scheduled for yesterday Monday October 2, 2023 across the entire national territory. To see the effectiveness, a team from L’Express du Faso took a tour of the private high school in Accart, town of Bobo-Dioulasso.
It’s back to school. Teachers and students have returned to school. At the Accart-ville private high school located in sector 09 of Bobo-Dioulasso. On site, we see that classes have actually started. As usual, the establishment has developed the calendar for the various programs since the start of the administrative year on September 15, 2023. According to Nazer Bonzi, director of the private high school in Accart-ville, “students in exam classes were seated on Saturday September 23, 2023 and started classes on Monday September 25. It was from September 28 that we installed the students in class 6e et 2nde since they are new. The date of September 29 reserved for other classes and the next day took place the back-to-school council.
Regarding the start of the school year, the director affirms that classes have indeed started this Monday, October 2 at the private high school in Accart ville and that this start of the school year is a success. Another observation on the ground is the large number of registrations, parents and students are still waiting. He ends with wishes for a good start to the school year, a good year, and above all good results because, according to him, good results are the best publicity for an establishment.
Lassina Ouattara, a history and geography teacher at this high school for five years, finds that there is no particular emotion. “We are happy to resume with peace of mind. Our wish is to produce good results compared to the previous year,” he pointed out.
New and returning students speak out about the start of the school year. Balguissa Anifatou Ouattara is happy to be in high school. She also says she is eager to know the difference between elementary and high school. Unlike Anifatou, some have been there for two, three years or more. This is the case of Oumou Naoma Yaméogo who says she is between stress and fear.
