In the night from Wednesday to Thursday (midnight), the Netherlands will return to the ‘partial lockdown’, the cabinet announced during the press conference on Tuesday evening. An overview of the measures that apply from that moment on.
Advice: stay at home as much as possible
The general advice of the cabinet is to stay at home as much as possible. “So go to the supermarket by yourself and not shop for fun. Always ask yourself: do I really have to go outside?” Said Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
Museums, theaters and cinemas can reopen
Theaters, swimming pools, amusement parks, libraries, sex clubs, casinos, cinemas and other ‘public spaces’ can reopen after a two-week closure. To visit these locations, you must first make a reservation.
At home with a maximum of three guests per day
People can receive three people at home every day. That number was two in the past two weeks. An exception applies to children up to the age of twelve or people from the same household.
Outside maximum with four people
Where you were allowed to be on the street with two people in the past two weeks, that limit has been increased again to four. Here, too, an exception applies for children up to the age of twelve.
Mandatory masks from 1 December
From 1 December, there is a national duty to mask the mouth in public indoor spaces such as shops, museums, restaurants and theaters. More about this will be announced by the cabinet shortly.
Maximum thirty people in indoor areas
In indoor spaces where people are seated, a maximum number of people of thirty applies.
Group lessons are allowed again
From Wednesday evening, a maximum of four people may again be able to exercise outside in a group at the same time. Group lessons are also allowed again after a two-week ban.
Public not allowed in sports
The public is not allowed on the sports stands, nor are there any parents on the line.
The catering industry will remain closed, events are prohibited
To limit the number of times people come into contact with each other, there will be a complete closure of the catering industry and events will remain prohibited. Pick up of food and drinks is still possible.

Up to a hundred people again present at funerals
A maximum of 100 people are allowed to attend funerals from Wednesday evening. For the past two weeks, this limit was thirty.
Do not travel abroad until mid-January
The cabinet urges you not to travel abroad until mid-January, unless it is really necessary. The Caribbean part of the Netherlands does not count as a foreign country and therefore the negative travel advice does not apply, unless an island has been given the code orange or red.
Alcohol prohibition between 8 pm and 7 am
It remains forbidden to sell or deliver alcohol between 8 pm and 7 am. It is also not allowed to carry alcohol with you or to consume it in public spaces during those times.
