With Olivier Deschacht, Steven Defour and Jelle Van Damme, last season saw three players who marked the JPL, put an end to their careers.
Without a club, Jelle Van Damme had decided to hang up his crampons last season. But it seems that the latter is ultimately not entirely convinced of his decision.
The former Anderlecht, Standard and Antwerp defender saw his latest adventure end in disappointment, as his last club, Lokeren, were declared bankrupt.
Van Damme then looked for a new team but ultimately did not find where to bounce back, and decided to end his career. But in the meantime things have started to move again and the defender is training again, with Free Players FC a club-less formation.
“You should never say never. I think I’m in better shape than when I stopped. I’m fit, the urge is still there and I can still do it I would say. I do not exclude anything, nothing should be done. exclude in life, “Jelle Van Damme said in an interview with Eleven Sports.
