“Back to Black” – what do we know about Amy Winehouse’s biography
“Back to Black” was created in cooperation with the heirs of Amy Winehouse. The project was prepared by Studiocanal, and the script was written by Matt Greenhalgh, who has already written a number of film biographies. He wrote, among others: “Control” and “The True Story of the King of Scandals” and the film “John Lennon. The Boy From Nowhere”.
Sam Taylor-Johnson was behind the camera of the project. Her filmography includes “John Lennon: Nowhere Boy” (2009), “Fifty Shades of Gray” (2015) and “A Million Little Pieces” (2018). Jack O’Connell (“Lady Chatterley’s Lover”), Eddie Marsan (“Game of Fortune”) and Lesley Manville (“Mrs. Harris’ Paris”) will appear on the screen. The project was financed by Studiocanal, Focus Features and Monumental Pictures.

Who was Amy Winehouse?
Amy Winehouse is a British singer who created music combining elements of soul, jazz and R&B. She was a laureate of, among others: Grammy and Brit Awards. Her greatest fame was brought by the album “Back to Black”, which included songs such as: “Rehab” or “You Know I’m No Good”. The singer struggled with drug and alcohol addiction. She died in 2011 at the age of 27.
