Back surgery of Danish Queen Margrethe went well: “Her condition is stable” | royalty

In the coming period, the queen will remain admitted to the Rigshospitalet and then a longer recovery and rehabilitation period awaits, according to the Danish royal family.

Crown Prince Frederik (54) is now regent, which means that he rules on behalf of his mother until she can do so herself again. But since he and his wife Crown Princess Mary (51) are going on an official visit to India from Saturday, Margrethe’s sister Princess Bendicht (78) will temporarily take over the role from that day on.

Margrethe is not the only royal who has undergone hospitalization in recent days. King Carl Gustaf (76) of Sweden has successfully operated on his heart. And the Dutch former queen Beatrix (85) had surgery on the wrist after a skiing accident last Friday in Lech, Austria.
