The Cuban reggaeton artist Yosvanis Arismin Sierra Hernández, better known as ‘Chocolate MC’, is back on the streets, after being released by the Miami police from his arrest on March 21, when he was arrested for another domestic violence incident.
Through his social networks, the self-proclaimed ‘King of Delivery’ shared a photograph in which police officers are seen posing and smiling with him. In his description, he took the opportunity to thank the police for “another opportunity,” and supposedly promised to focus on his artistic career.
The truth is that there have been several occasions in which the urban singer has “committed” to not cause any more problems and focus on his music and even his family. The last time was at the beginning of 2023, when his sister and his nephew moved in with him, to later be thrown out by him and end up living on the street begging for alms.
Although he has never been caught for the consumption of illicit substances, Chocolate himself has admitted that he uses them, and even went so far as to mock the police because before they arrested him he managed to get rid of them and a weapon he was carrying without permissionso they couldn’t charge him.
Now, despite his long history of encounters with the law, which last year alone recorded five arrests, one with imprisonment for a month, the reggaeton player was released again by the authorities.
“A commitment to the city of Miami. Thanks for another opportunity. Here I am to give you a lot of Chocolate,” she wrote on Instagram.
Chocolate’s release caused discontent on social networks, even among some of his followers, on the eve of his concert scheduled for this Saturday, March 30 at the Dolphin Mall, where the singer promised to give a show without incident or the presence of weapons.
“What about the police? If someone is arrested more than three times, for whatever crime, you no longer let them out!”; “It takes longer to get it out than it takes to get it back in”; “That, let him go so he can continue hitting women”; “Asere, I like your music but you are a criminal hahahaha,” were some of the comments.
In response to criticism, Chocolate MC acknowledged that he has had past problems with the law, but stressed his desire to reintegrate into society through his music.
“I’m trying to make music again, I’m trying to get on stage, do massive concerts, I want to integrate into society,” he declared.
The reggaeton singer also took the opportunity to confront those who constantly point out him as a criminal, emphasizing his commitment to his career and to the authorities and ignoring the twenty arrests he has accumulated in the US since 2018.
As for Saturday’s concert, the presence of other artists such as El Chulo and Lenier Mesa have already been confirmed, which keeps their most loyal followers excited.
