Back in pictures. First day of reopening of beaches on the Basque coast

This Saturday, May 16, 2020 was the official reopening of the beaches in the Basque Country. Some people took the opportunity to go surfing or strolling on the beach.

The sun was there, this Saturday, May 16, 2020, for this first day of reopening of the beaches in the Basque Country. Unfortunately for surfers the conditions were not optimal to fully enjoy this sunny day.

Due to the unfavorable surfing conditions, the surfers fell back on the beach of Les Sables d’Or in Anglet to enjoy the waves:

Control and surveillance operations are carried out by the municipal police and Lifeguards who while waiting to start the beach surveillance season take care of informing and educating people so that they respect the rules. As for example at the Madrague beach in Anglet:

Whether in Biarritz or Anglet, the entrances have a well-differentiated entrance and exit to avoid crossing paths and maintaining social distancing.
