Deputy Chairperson of the Gelora Party Fahri Hamzah again threw attacks at the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) which he deems to have deceived the people and disrupted the performance of President Joko Widodo’s cabinet (Jokowi). His statement then provoked a backlash from the KIB political parties, namely Golkar, PAN and PPP.
Golkar DPP chairman Ace Hasan Syadzily responded to Fahri’s statement. Ace considered Fahri’s analysis shallow for his statement.
Ace initially highlighted Fahri’s statement about the ministers who also served as political party leaders at KIB. Ace ensured that the 3 KIB political parties have the responsibility to make President Jokowi’s government a success.

“He should know that the general chairmen of the political parties who are members of the KIB are all assistants to the President. Pak Airlangga, Ketum Golkar, are Coordinating Ministers for the Economy. Pak Zulhas, Ketum PAN, have also recently been appointed as Minister of Trade. Pak Suharso, Head of PPP, Minister of Bappenas RI,” Ace told reporters on Sunday (31/7/2022).
“We have a responsibility to make President Jokowi’s government a success because we are part of this government. Therefore, we will definitely be serious about keeping the government’s performance in line with the expectations of the President and the Indonesian people,” he continued.
Ace asks Fahri not to talk too much about KIB. Because according to him, Fahri doesn’t know much about the developments going on at KIB.
“Fahri Hamzah shouldn’t have to talk too much about the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) because he doesn’t know anything about this coalition and its development,” he said.
Ace assessed that Fahri’s statement showed a shallow analysis. He also asked Fahri to focus on managing his party in order to qualify for parliament in the 2024 election.
“So Fahri Hamzah’s statement is clearly a shallow analysis. It is better for him to manage his party so that it passes in the 2024 election later,” he said.
Likewise from PAN. PAN Deputy Chairperson Yandri Susanto considered Fahri’s statement to be wrong. He explained that his party formed a coalition earlier to be more open to the public.
“What Bang Fahri said is wrong, yes, because God willing, we will never deceive the people, lo. KIB was formed in order to prepare for the 2024 contest early and of course it makes us more open to the people, not playing at the last minute. At the beginning, people knew better that PAN, Golkar, PPP were in a coalition and the process was long and could mutually reinforce each other, including being more serious in preparing the candidate pairs to be promoted in 2024,” Yandri said when contacted, Sunday (31/7/2022).
Yandri explained that at this time he had not yet entered the stage of the registration process for the presidential and vice presidential pairs carried by the party coalition. Even so, Yandri said his party had agreed to form a coalition to finalize political cooperation.
Yandri then mentioned Gelora, who has not yet formed a coalition. Jokingly, he said he would invite Gelora to join KIB.
“Well, there is no registration process to the KPU yet. So Bang Fahri is wrong too. Now it’s not like that, lo. There will be a stage for the presidential and vice-presidential candidate pair in mid-2023, but the process to understand each other and then build a coalition is important from the start, ” said Yandri.
“That may be because Gelora has not been invited, God willing, we will invite Gelora,” he continued.
Furthermore, Yandri said that the cabinet reshuffle had nothing to do with KIB. He emphasized that the cabinet reshuffle is entirely the right of the president.
“Then it is related to the reshuffle, no, because Bang Fahri also knows that it is the president’s prerogative. It has nothing to do with anything else. KIB has also often had reshuffles. So it would be wrong if it seemed as if the reshuffle was because there were KIBs,” said the Deputy Chair of the MPR.
In addition, PPP Deputy General Chair Arsul Sani also flicked back at Fahri. Arsul said he was fantasizing about the accusation.
According to Arsul, the party who knows best about the existence of KIB interferes with the cabinet’s performance, namely Jokowi and the cabinet as a whole. Arsul then considers Fahri’s comments like someone who is fantasizing.
“Bang Fahri Hamzah is fantasizing about it. Well, Pak Jokowi doesn’t come to such conclusions. The one who knows best whether the political attitudes of the 3 political parties interfere with their performance as ministers or not is the President or the cabinet as a whole,” Arsul told reporters on Sunday. “If the voices are those outside the government, their voices are like people who are fantasizing, making compositions,” he continued.
