Bachvarova hid information about a protest by Afghans in front of our embassy in London – 2024-09-11 03:19:59

/ world today news/ Bachvarova’s terrorist “threat” turned out to be an echo of a protest by Afghans in front of our embassy in London, hidden by the Bulgarian authorities.

The Bulgarian authorities have hidden information about a protest held by Afghans in front of our embassy in Great Britain. On November 30 (Wednesday), a demonstration was held in front of our diplomatic mission in London by about 20-25 Afghans living on the Island.

It was after the protest in front of our embassy in London that a group of Afghans were caught on social networks making offensive qualifications against Bulgaria. It was these “threats” on Facebook that the outgoing Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs, Rumiana Bachvarova, today defined as terrorist threats. Later, the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office denied that they had been informed of a definite threat of terrorism in our country.

The Afghan protest in front of our mission in London took place last Wednesday at 11.00 local time and lasted for two hours. About 20 men participated in the demonstration. Women and children were not present. The video, which was posted on the Facebook profile of London-based Afghan Yama Saghar, shows that the demonstrators had photographs of the migrants from the Harmanli camp who were allegedly beaten after the police and gendarmerie quelled the riot in the refugee center. Banners were also raised with appeals such as: “Stop the killing and torture of innocent Afghan refugees.” Similar appeals were also made by megaphone. Apparently, it was not explained to the protesters that there was no murder or torture of migrants in Harmanli. The president of the Afghan Youth Society in Great Britain, Ahmad Turab, played an active role in the organization of the protest. There was no tension during the demonstration, which was guarded by several British police officers. Finally, representatives of protesters try to deliver a declaration against the actions of the Bulgarian authorities in Harmanli to the Bulgarian diplomats, but it is not clear from the footage whether this happened after all.

Videos and many photos of the protest have been viewed about 60,000 times and shared on Facebook in the hundreds. It was from the comments on the recordings and photos that our diplomats in Great Britain assumed that there was a risk of a terrorist threat. However, such an organization has never been established, if the insults and threats made in the form of comments on Facebook are excluded.

We remind you that a day after the protest of the Afghans in front of our embassy in London, the resigned Prime Minister Boyko Borisov spoke with the head of the executive power of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah. At the time, the government information service did not report that Borissov and Abdullah had discussed the demonstration in front of our diplomatic representation in Great Britain.
