Daniel Bachmann was in goal for the first time in two and a half months at Watford FC, but there was nothing to celebrate for Austria’s team goalkeeper. Watford had to admit defeat in the Premier League at Leicester City 2: 4 (1: 3) on Sunday.
Bachmann was back in the league for the first time since September 11th. After a slight collateral ligament injury in his knee, he had to give up his regular seat to Ben Foster, but remained number one in the ÖFB team. On Sunday he was given preference by coach Claudio Ranieri, and in difficult external conditions due to heavy snowfall, he conceded four goals. James Maddison (16th), Jamie Vardy (34th, 42nd) and Ademola Lookman (68th) defeated Bachmann.
ManCity beat West Ham, Chelsea only draw
Defending champions Manchester City defeated West Ham United, who won 2-0 in the Europa League at Rapid Vienna on Thursday, 2-1 and moved back up to second place. Because of the heavy snowfall in northwest England, the match between Burnley and Tottenham Hotspur has been canceled.
Despite losing points, Chelsea remains at the top. The “Blues” came at home only to a 1: 1 (0: 0) against record champions Manchester United. The guests from Manchester, where Cristiano Ronaldo stayed on the bench for over an hour, took the lead through Jadon Sancho (50th). After Aaron Wan-Bissaka fouled Thiago Silva in the United penalty area, Jorginho (69th) converted the penalty to equalize.
