FILADELFIA, PA — Bachatero Pedrito Ortega expresses that through his music he contributes significantly to the diffusion of Dominican art and culture abroad, despite its limitations and setbacks.
This great empirical musician, who began his musical practices at the age of 12 in his family home in the municipality of Castillo, stood out as a companion to the choir of the Catholic Church there.
Four years later, he moved to the Dominican capital, where he began to try his luck and was part of the bachatera band of Juan Bautista, Solterito del Sur, Joscar Sarante, Bolívar Peralta, Jaime Zabala and Willy Castro, the latter with whom he traveled to the United States, the promised land.
The beardless singer-in-training, a very promising young musician and noble artist of Quisquean origin, never gave up defeated, defeated and today he is a great exponent of the Dominican musical genre, Bachata, a fiery musical rhythm that absolutely dominates and stars in the most important international venues and stages.
Upon his arrival in the United States of North America, the restless young Creole artist, Pedrito Ortega, worked for a few months in New York and later moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In this state he joined * Los Reyes de la Bachata *, an acceptable Hispanic musical group from, where the artistic name of * Pedrito Ortega * arose and, after that, his stay in Philadelphia has been a historical event of virtues, personal advances , positive changes and business prosperity.
