Thomas Bach, chairman of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), announced that the Tokyo Olympics will be held as scheduled for July this year. He nailed no alternative.

In a video interview with Japan’s Kyodo News Agency on the 21st, Chairman Bach said, “At this point, there is no reason to think that the Tokyo Olympics will not start in Tokyo on July 23. “That’s why I’m committed to doing it successfully.”

However, Chairman Bach added, “There are no taboos when it comes to safety,” adding that “safety comes first.”

The interview that day was held in Japan with the theory of re-acting the Tokyo Olympics. The Tokyo Olympics were originally scheduled to be held last year, but were postponed for one year due to the aftermath of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19). As Corona 19 spreads again in Japan, the possibility of a reenactment of the Olympics is also being discussed.

Chairman Bach said that next year’s Beijing Winter Olympics will also proceed as planned.
