With a distinct cultural character and various unique historical and cultural relics, Bac Hà district is known as an attractive tourist destination in the mountainous province of Lào Cai (Northwest).

Nguyên Duy Hoa, secretary of Bac Hà Party Committee, shared that Bac Hà has characteristics and factors to become a special tourist area of Lào Cai and the North West region.

The Bac Hà cultural market has been listed by the Sri Lankan magazine Serendib as one of the 10 most attractive markets in Southeast Asia, while the Hoàng A Tuong palace has been around for almost a century, but retains its unique Asian-European architecture intact.
Bac Hà also has hundreds of relics and heritage sites, including the ritual and tug-of-war game of the Tày ethnic group, recognized as Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
The “white plateau” Bac Hà is known for its traditional culture imprinted with national identity. This land still has unique characteristics, standing out for a rich and diverse culinary culture, typical and endemic agricultural products.

In addition to natural elements, Bac Hà festivals also create their own attraction for visitors.
According to Bac Hà People’s Committee Chairman Dinh Van Dang, after more than two years affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the district has planned to hold a series of tourism events throughout the year to restore the local entertainment industry.
In addition, the completion and commissioning of the Hanoi-Lào Cai expressway intersection has shortened the distance to Bac Hà district by more than 20 km and created favorable conditions for visitors to the “plateau white”.

Currently, Bac Hà has 85 accommodation establishments and nearly 60 restaurants, cafeterias and entertainment venues. Along with many synchronous solutions to gradually improve tourism infrastructure and services, the district is developing various types of tourism such as ecotourism, rural, craft, creative and adventure tourism.
The district is also building 10 unique tourism product groups associated with the “white plateau” brand. At the same time, the district has a project to preserve and promote the traditional cultural spaces of ethnic groups linked to the development of local community tourism.
