The family says the couple already had five daughters and the husband pressured his wife to give birth to a son.
The man has since been arrested, but claims he would never intentionally hurt his wife. In his own words, he threw a sickle at her, but did not think he would cause her such serious harm. “I have five daughters and a deceased son,” said the man. “I know that children are a gift from God.”
