Baby injured by fireworks, admitted to burns center | Inland

Around 1.15 pm, three children, between the ages of four and twelve, were setting off light fireworks in the Willem van Heesstraat in Breda. When a couple walked by with a baby in the pram, one of the caps ended up in the pram and exploded. The child was injured in the process. The baby had to be taken to hospital for treatment. The police are investigating the incident.

The baby is in the burns center in Rotterdam. The mother of the children who set off the fireworks with her permission, tells Omroep Brabant: “They saw the parents arriving with the pram. At that point they wanted to stop playing with fireworks. But one of my boys just threw up a spinner, which then ended up in the pram. Really an accident. ”

The baby’s mother took the still-burning fireworks from the pram with bare hands and threw it on the floor. “We then called 911 and immediately cooled the baby in here,” says the mother of the playing children. It would be children’s fireworks, say the police. These fireworks are available all year round and can also be lit all year round.
