A baby missing for several hours Monday morning was found safe in the care of a family after suspects stole a parent’s vehicle with the 1-year-old inside, authorities said.
Police were searching for suspected thieves who are believed to have stolen a vehicle near East 117th Street y First Avenue around 6:00 a.m., New York City Police said. The suspects allegedly threatened to shoot the owner of the car.
The individuals allegedly fled toward the East Harlem intersection with the vehicle and the toddler inside.
Around 10:00 am, the department announced that the missing Honda Accord had been located and the boy was found safe and sound and no longer in danger.
It was not immediately clear if officials were still searching for two suspects in connection with the case.
