As director Edgar Wright revealed in an interview with Variety, the way for “Baby Driver 2” is free. According to the director himself, he has now written the entire script.
It has long been known that Edgar Wright wants to make a sequel to “Baby Driver”. In a recent interview with Variety, which is actually about his first documentary “The Sparks Brothers”, which is celebrating its world premiere these days, he has now also given a brief update on “Baby Driver 2”.
The script is written, says Wright about the sequel to the lively car action break with Ansel Elgort and Lily James. He even finished the third version. So Wright has already revised the script twice, which suggests that he may have already submitted it to the studio and incorporated feedback.

So we can hope that the director will get to work soon.
What happens after the open end of “Baby Driver”?
Not really anything is known about the content. It should only be clear that Edgar Wright has to take a position in his sequel at the end of the first part. Because so far it is not clear whether the final shot is reality or a dream sequence.
In the summer of 2017, the filmmaker also revealed that Ansel Elgort’s baby in the sequel is likely to be involved in the crime in a different way. “He wouldn’t be the student anymore,” Wright said at the time.
By the way, Edgar Wright’s next movie is “Last Night In Soho”, a serial killer horror thriller with “The Lady’s Gambit” star Anya Taylor-Joy and ex- “Doctor Who” Matt Smith. This is due to hit the cinemas on November 11, 2021, but is already completely finished, so that Wright could turn to the “Baby Driver 2” shoot very soon.
