Baby dies of coronavirus in the United States

A baby under the age of one died in the United States of Covid-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, announced on Saturday the authorities of the state of Illinois. The disease is said to save children relatively, and very young victims are very rare.

“Today, I have terribly sad information to report. Among the deaths in the past 24 hours, there was a state employee (…) and a very young child,” said governor JB Pritzker. at a press conference.

“I know how difficult this news is to accept, especially when it comes to a very young child,” he added.

The Illinois Department of Health then specified that the child was less than a year old, without specifying if he suffered from other pathologies.

The United States has become this week the country of the world having recorded the greatest number of cases of contaminations with the new coronavirus. It affected nearly 120,000 people and nearly 2,000 died.
