This was far from the first Mick Schumacher accident on Formula 1 circuits, in which he has only been competing since last season.

In 2021, he won the unflattering ranking of pilots, due to which the most expensive repairs had to be made on monoposts.

According to German television Sky Germany, repairs after accidents and other technical problems on Schumacher’s formula cost 4.2 million euros.

And the 23-year-old continues in this setting in the new year of Formula 1. During Saturday’s qualifying in Jeddah, he crashed into a concrete wall with the right side of the car.

“He destroyed the transmission, the body, the cooling and almost the entire wheel suspension,” said Haas team boss Günther Steiner. Only the left wheel suspension remained completely intact.

When asked how much the repairs of these components would cost, the native of Merano, Italy, could not answer exactly: “Between half a million and a million.”

The Haas Monoposts performed well during the first two Grand Prix. Kevin Magnussen finished 5th in Bahrain and 9th in Saudi Arabia.

Schumacher won his best career career in Bahrain when he finished 11th. He is still waiting for the first point in Formula 1.
